If you have a new flat screen TV, you might be interested in a wall mount bracket for TVs. The brackets are available in several different sizes and styles depending on the type of television they need to hold. You can find brackets for mounting a TV on the wall in styles suited for a plasma or LCD screen TV or for an LCD TV alone. You can also find the brackets available in a stationary design or a swivel mount design. The brackets are generally available in colors of black, chrome or silver.

When you purchase the brackets, they come complete with the screws and hinges you need for installing them. You will want to make sure you attach them to a wood wall stud in your home, to prevent the unit from pulling out of the wall under the weight of the television. The style of bracket that is designed to tilt or swivel gives you the option of being able to adjust the upward or downward angle of the television. The angle can be as much as 30 to 35 degrees in variance.

You can also find brackets that allow you to swivel the set from side to side with a degree of variance around 50. The cost of the tilt and swivel combination bracket for a set that weighs around 30 to 60 pounds is $30. This is a nice type of bracket to have if your television is in a central location in your home such as a family room. The option of being able to adjust the set for optimum viewing is beneficial when you have a lot of people that are watching a movie or program on the TV.

When choosing a wall mount bracket for TVs you need to look at what the specifications are on the bracket package. The most important piece of information will be the amount of weight the bracket is designed to support. You might also find information about the type of bracket that would work best for your set in the information manual that came with your television. You will also want to make sure you have the proper tools for installing and that the bracket is attached securely to the wall before attempting to place the television set on it. A well chosen bracket that is attached securely will prevent the risk of having the set fall and become damaged.

It used to be that back in the day TVs were quite bulky, you absolutely had to buy a stand for them or you could just sit them on the floor. But, of course with time comes advancement in technology and now we have some really amazing TVs available to us that still come in “big” formats, but they now are much slimmer such as the flat screen plasmas or LCDs.

The one thing about these TVS is that you simply cannot buy just any TV stand for them, and frankly, I do not think you would want to! With the old TV stands you could only watch the TV from the prime seat in the front of the TV or sofa and if your favorite chair was off to the side or you had a few people over that were watching the TV, you had to practically crane your neck just to see the darn thing!

Well, now things have changed with swivel stands! You see these stands just about everywhere these days; bars, restaurants, even hospitals. These swivels come in two main options. You can either choose a stand with swivel brackets for TVs or you can buy just the swivel brackets designed for televisions that anchor into your wall – I have even see ones where you can anchor them into a fireplace!

The stands will include a main stand that goes up the back of the anchor (usually a floor drawer or stand anchor) and the brace will have the swivel “arms” right on the brackets. Then, you can choose how high or low you want the TV to be and all you have to do is set up the brackets on the back of the TV and either attach, hook, or screw it to the base swivel.

The point of the swivel is to allow you to “turn” the TV any way you want. This not only allows everyone to be happy when watching TV but it can also reduce glare if your TV does not have a glare free screen. You can have it straight ahead, left, right, etc. They usually move up 15 degrees and over 180 to 360 degrees depending on the swivel you get and the brand option.

These might look a little scary at first, after all, it is just “metal”, but I can absolutely assure you they are safe and they will hold your TV up. Each swivel bracket comes in different variations depending on your TV. So you can find a Z-line swivel bracket for 55inch TV or a Samsung 25 inch swivel bracket.

It is always suggested that you try to find a bracket that matches your TV brand, but I also find that this is not incredibly necessary because the brackets usually match the TV size and weight not necessarily the brand of the TV. Very easy to set up, just follow the directions on the package, and you will have a new TV set up in less than an hours time!

One suggestion from a seasoned swivel bracket to you – make sure you get 2-3 people to help you place the TV up on the brackets for the swivel, this can be quite exhausting especially if you have a big time like I do – it is a 50inch 115lb TV!

You have made the big purchase of a Plasma TV and a swivel TV mount will enable you to get the ultimate best viewing in your home. If you are a home do it yourself person, a few tips to get you started in the right direction could be helpful.

Swivel TV mounts can be mounted on your wall, ceiling, or you can purchase a TV stand with the mount included. Types of swivel mounts are low profile, tilting and articulating. The best type for your Plasma TV wall mount should include the articulating feature, which means it can move from left to right.

Many TV stands are now offering the mounting poles for your plasma TV. The TV is attached to the pole with brackets that are included and allow you to turn or swivel the TV to get the best view from wherever you are sitting. Often, the plasma TV itself will include a swivel mount stand to sit directly on top of the TV stand.

Plasma TV wall mount brackets and kits can be purchased to mount your TV. There is a flat wall mount that will allow you to snugly fit the screen to your wall. You may also purchase mounts that will tilt your screen downward. You can also find swivel mounts to be able to adjust the direction of the screen. Ceiling mounts are great for larger spaces as well as for hanging a TV in a corner. The ceiling mount uses a plate that attaches to the ceiling and the TV will be mounted to a pole that will allow it to turn. You can also get the ceiling mount model that encases the TV with straps so it is secure.

You can often find complete wall mounting kits that will fit just about any plasma TV. The TV manufacturers have standardized their construction in order to use universal mounting kits. If by chance your TV does not have this, you can purchase adapter plates to mount the TV. When installing the wall mount, make sure you have the wall studs where the TV will go. Most will also install into concrete. You should make sure you buy the TV mount that is made for the weight of your TV as well as the size.

Swivel TV mounts are a great way to hang your plasma TV. It allows you to be able to turn the TV in both directions so it can be seen wherever you are sitting. You can check some great deals on swivel TV mounts on the internet or at a local store near you.
